Al Albayt University (Mafraq, Jordan)

Located in Mafraq Governorate, northern Jordan, Al al-Bayt University (AABU) is a public higher-education institution (established in 1992) with a clear mission to support regional development, knowledge production, and community service. Positioned at the interface of urban expansion, agricultural hinterlands, and fragile dryland environments, AABU is well placed to contribute to practice-oriented solutions in land governance, urban and regional planning, sustainable infrastructure, and climate adaptation. In line with its societal role, AABU promotes interdisciplinary education and applied research, strengthening links between academia and public institutions to support evidence-based territorial and urban development. Through its internationalization agenda, AABU encourages mobility, joint programs, and collaborative projects, helping build the next generation of professionals capable of addressing complex land and urban challenges across Jordan and the wider Mediterranean region.
